The lineup
The Collective assembles three well-known East Texas players for the night. Stevie Ray came up as the lead guitarist of the Ark-La-Tex band Stevie Ray And The Deacon, a player known for fiery guitar work and soulful vocals rooted in the blues greats. Kelly Blakely is a former vocalist of the band Black Suede. And Donnie Dotson, a Linden native, has anchored the East Texas music scene for more than two decades, best known for his long-running band White Trash Wannabes. Put all three on one stage with a full rhythm section and it is the kind of lineup a small theater was built for.
