Heather Linn and The Deacons, a female-led Southern Country Rock band from Northeast Texas, play the Red Rooster IceHouse in Hawkins on Saturday, September 26, about 30 minutes from the property. No cover, cold beer, and the kind of music that sounds like it belongs in an East Texas icehouse.

Heather Linn and The Deacons are a female-led Texas Southern Country Rock band from Northeast Texas, based in the Texarkana area near the Arkansas border. Founded by vocalist Heather Linn, the band features Jase Bryant on guitar and vocals, Paul Holder on drums, and Brady Stillwell on bass and vocals. They describe their sound as a little Red Dirt, a little traditional, sometimes folky, with a whole lot of rock and roll. On Saturday, September 26, 2026, they bring their live show to the Red Rooster IceHouse in Hawkins, about 30 minutes southwest of the property. The show starts at 7:30 PM, and there is no cover charge.

The band

Heather Linn and The Deacons have been headlining shows across the four-state area of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, and are regulars on the East Texas icehouse circuit. They have played at Lone Star Ice House in Longview, Hopkins Icehouse in Texarkana, and Red Rooster IceHouse in Hawkins. Their sound blends traditional country instrumentation with a Southern rock edge, and their live show is built around the kind of energy that keeps a Saturday night crowd on the dance floor. They released a five-song EP in October 2022, recorded at SG Studios in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and continue to build their following across the region.

The venue

Red Rooster IceHouse on FM 14 in Hawkins is a classic East Texas music hall with a restaurant, full bar, and an indoor stage that hosts regional and national acts throughout the year. The menu runs to burgers, chicken fried steak, and Southern comfort food, and the atmosphere is the kind that makes a Saturday night feel like a genuine night out. It is about 30 minutes southwest of the property, past farmland and through the Piney Woods.

The drive from the property

County Road 1070 to Hawkins is about 30 minutes via US-80 and US-271. Late September in East Texas brings cool evenings, lower humidity, and the first real signs of fall. For anyone evaluating the property as a full-time home or weekend getaway, having a live music venue thirty minutes from the gate with no cover charge and a steady rotation of regional talent is the kind of detail that makes rural Texas living feel connected.
