The band

The Eli Young Band formed at the University of North Texas in Denton in the early 2000s and spent years building a following the old-school Texas way: relentless touring, independent releases, and a sound that blended rock energy with country songwriting. Their breakthrough came with the 2011 single "Crazy Girl," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard country charts and earned a Platinum certification. They followed it with "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," another No. 1, and a string of hits including "Drunk Last Night" and "Love Ain't." The band has sold over 3 million albums and earned multiple ACM and CMA award nominations.

The Power Full Band Acoustic format strips their sound down to its essentials: the songs, the harmonies, and the storytelling that made them one of the defining acts of the modern Texas country movement. For a venue the size of Red Rooster IceHouse, this is an unusually intimate booking. The same band that plays arenas and amphitheaters will be on a small stage in Hawkins, East Texas. Tickets are expected to go quickly.

The opening acts

Heather Linn opens the evening with her blend of Texas country and Southern storytelling. The Jase Bryant Acoustic Duo rounds out the bill with a stripped-down set. Together, the three acts represent a full evening of Texas music from established hitmakers and rising regional talent, all on the same small stage.

The drive from the property

County Road 1070 to Red Rooster in Hawkins is about 30 minutes via US-80 and US-271. A late-November drive means cool temperatures, early darkness, and the landscape settled into winter quiet. For anyone evaluating the 8-acre property, a show like this tells you something important about the area: the live music calendar within a half-hour drive of this property includes national touring acts. The Eli Young Band playing an acoustic set in Hawkins is the kind of event that makes rural Texas living feel connected to something bigger than the nearest highway exit.
