The Whatley Center's new season: 'The Soundtrack of Our Lives'

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts in Mount Pleasant has announced its 2026-2027 season, "The Soundtrack of Our Lives," and the calendar is filling with country, Broadway, pop, doo-wop, and Western swing just ten minutes from the property.

The new season at the Whatley Center, on the Northeast Texas Community College campus, is titled "The Soundtrack of Our Lives." It opens on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 with The Texas Tenors, the Emmy Award-winning trio that blends country, classical, Broadway, and pop. The rest of the season carries that same wide-ranging spirit across country, Broadway, doo-wop, and Western swing, rounded out by Theatre Northeast productions and the Mount Pleasant Community Orchestra. Season memberships went on sale in late August, with single tickets opening after October 4.

The venue

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts is the cultural anchor of Mount Pleasant and Titus County. The roughly 400-seat theatre sits on the NTCC campus with good sightlines from every row, and it has played host to everything from classical ensembles to tribute acts, touring musicians, and resident theatre. It is about ten minutes from the property on County Road 1070, an easy drive for a night out.

Getting there from the property

The Whatley Center is roughly a ten-minute drive from 1786 County Road 1070 on paved roads through the pastures and pine woods of Titus County. The NTCC campus provides ample parking near the theatre.
