Kolby Cooper has become one of the defining voices of the new Texas country wave, and on Friday, October 23, he brings that sound to Buffalo Joe's Pub in Paris, about 30 minutes from the property. It is the kind of booking that tells you the local music scene is more than open-mic nights: a touring artist on a major label, playing a room that fits a few hundred people.

The artist

Cooper was born in Palestine and raised in Bradford, a tiny farming community in Anderson County where he grew up on outlaw country and grunge in equal measure. He started performing professionally at 18 and was making a name in the Texas scene before signing to Wheelhouse Records. His catalog runs from the breakout song "Excuses" to "It Ain't Me," "Under My Skin," and the album "Boy From Anderson County," and he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022. His live show is loud, honest, and built for rooms exactly like a Texas roadhouse.

The venue

Buffalo Joe's Pub & Grill sits on NE Loop 286 in Paris, a neighborhood roadhouse that has quietly become one of the region's most reliable live music stops. It books a steady run of touring country and Texas acts, and it stays close to the ground: the stage is not far from the bar, the sound is loud, and nobody is checking for a table reservation. For anyone at the property, a Friday night here is a straight shot up US-271 with the drive home through the same pasture country you came through on the way in.

Getting there from the property

Paris is roughly 30 minutes from 1786 County Road 1070 via US-271. Buffalo Joe's is easy to find off the loop, with plenty of parking, and the show starts at 7 PM. If you are coming to see the property this week, schedule your visit for the afternoon, then make the short drive north for the show.
