30- and 55-mile rides one day, then 25-, 50-, and 75-mile rides the next, with vet checks and awards for finishers. The organizer posts the exact weekend on the TERA events page.

Endurance riding is distance, not speed: horse and rider cover open ground for miles, holding a steady pace while vets check the horse's condition at points along the way. The Texas Endurance Riders Association brings that sport to Priefert Ranch in Mount Pleasant in December 2026, with 30- and 55-mile rides held one day and 25-, 50-, and 75-mile rides the next. The ranch is the same place that hosts the Everything Texas Ranch Run, and it is ideal endurance country: open pastures, scattered oaks, sandy loam soil, and long ranch roads.

The format

TERA endurance rides are multiday, ride-and-tie affairs built around the horse. Riders choose a distance, follow a marked course across the ranch, and stop at vet checks where the horse's heart rate and condition are evaluated before the ride continues. The shorter 25- and 30-mile options suit riders new to the sport, while the 75-mile day is a serious test of conditioning. Because it is a set of rides spread over two days, the event also draws spectators: trailers line up at the start, crews move between vet checks, and the finish line fills with the kind of horsemanship talk that belongs at a working ranch.

The drive from the property

Priefert Ranch is on Marvin Priefert Highway, about ten minutes from County Road 1070, the same short drive as the Everything Texas Ranch Run. For anyone with a horse property on their short list, the ride is a useful weekend to be nearby: it is a chance to see regional endurance riders working the same kind of sandy loam and oak pasture that the eight acres at County Road 1070 offers, and to meet the community that uses this corner of Titus County for distance horse travel.

The property is designed for horses but not yet for endurance distances: three stalls, a round pen, and an arena are the working core, while long rides happen on the county roads and ranch country just outside the gate. A hard-won finish line full of tired, sound horses within ten minutes of your own horse barn is a strong argument for the location, and a fine reason to trail a horse up for a long weekend.
